the Pastor...
The word BETHEL means HOUSE
OF GOD. There is a story in the Bible about
a man who was trying to find his place and purpose
in life. His failures and mistakes put him at odds
with his own brother and made it necessary for him
to travel over 400 miles in an attempt to find safety
and to make a new start. GOD chose
the first night of Jacob's journey to reveal Himself
in an unusual way to this struggling man. The experience
gave Jacob a remarkable and unexpected insight into
God's plan for his life. The next morning Jacob realized
that he was in a special place and he called that place BETHEL. YOU
ARE SPECIAL to God, too! The Bible says that
God loves you, regardless of what you have done or
where you have been. He stands ready to forgive you,
accept you as His child, and give you the gift of eternal
life. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, it
is not a matter of belonging to the right church or
trying to live a good life. The answer is trusting
in JESUS CHRIST as your Savior and
committing your life to Him.
It has been
my joy and privilege to be the pastor of Bethel Baptist
Church since 1984. My family and many others have discovered
that Bethel is a place of FAITH, HOPE, and LOVE.
It is my prayer that God will make Bethel a special place
for you! |
