In biblical times, a cornerstone was used as the foundation and standard upon which a building was constructed. The term is used metaphorically in the Bible to emphasize that Jesus is the Cornerstone of the household of God. He is the foundation of the Church, the Christian faith, and each Christian’s individual life.
The Cornerstone Class is a group of people from all walks of life who are experiencing God in a wonderful way. They are delving into Scripture with a sincere desire to become more and more like Jesus. They are trusting God to transform them into reliable and foundational Christians who will “stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured. “ (Colossians 4:12)
